Missing Link is a workshop instructed by Peter Ljungstrand, David Cuartielles, Eva Eriksson and I for interaction design students from K3, malmö and ituniv, gothenburg.
In this two days workshop we address the concept of [bottom-up design] where several groups have to work with designing components that will be combined in a number of unforeseen ways, creating an interactive light installation.

This workshop is about design of components that is to be a part of a larger system.

This workshop deals with interaction design both from a digital and a physical perspective.

The workshop confronts the participants with coorporation and negotiation within a group as well as between a number of groups.

In the workshop the design of the entire system is more than the sum of all components - why the ego of each participant is limited to component which is contributing to the whole of the system.

“Set regarded as a whole: a set of elements considered as a whole and regarded as amounting to more than the sum of its parts.”
