This project deals with mobile devices equipped with accelerometers. This type of sensor provides movement-based modalities for interacting both with the device itself and remote devices and dispays. The work here is inspired and based on the work done with the eMote as well as the work done with the mixis photoSwapper application.

I have worked on designing a cursor that visualizes the state of the mobile device by displaying an absolute mapping of the orientation of the mobile device in the x- and y-axis. This is done by rendering a simple 3D model of a mobile phone every 2 degrees on a half sphere - resulting in 91 times 91 frames. The animation is rendered into a swf and frames are displayed dependant on the orientation state of the mobile device.
