This short paper was submitted and accepted at the CHI 2005 in Portland. The paper - Mixed Interaction Space – Designing for Camera Based Interaction with Mobile Devices - describes and discusses the use of camera devices as input through the concept of a Mixed Interaction Space. The paper introduce some example applications building on the MIXIS concept and software. The paper is written by Thomas Riisgaard Hansen, Eva Eriksson and I.

Abstract
In mobile devices, such as mobile phones integrated camera can be used to interact with new ways. In this paper we introduce the interaction space and argue that the possibility mixed interaction spaces is what distinguishes camerabased interaction from other types of interaction on mobile devices. We present our applications, and related work that use mixed spaces. Based on this we address how mixed spaces can have different identities,
applications, and how it can be visualized.
